Boreal Access is proud to offer wireless services in downtown Grand Marais.

If you're already a Boreal member and want to add WiFi access to your account, please contact the Boreal office.

If you're just visiting and want to use the WiFi network for the day, weekend, week, etc., you can set up an account online by using one of the following links. (You don't need a Wifi account to access the sign-up pages):

If you prefer, you can also set up an account by calling the Boreal office at 218-387-9471 or stopping by our office in the lower level of the Sawtooth Mountain Clinic (at the intersection of Gunflint Trail and County Rd 7) during our office hours of 9:00am - 4:00pm Monday through Friday.

Below is our price list for a temporary WiFi account:

  • Hourly service: $3.95 per hour
  • Daily service: $14.95 per day
  • Weekly service: $24.95 per week
  • Monthly service: $39.95 per month
Please note that you are buying contiguous service. This means that your service begins at the time you purchase it and continues without break for the amount of time you purchase. For example, if you buy 1 hour of access at 10:15am, you'll have access between 10:15am and 11:15am. At 11:15am, one hour after you purchased your hour of service, your access will stop.

You may have one computer logged in at a time with your wifi service. If you need to have more than one computer using the service at the same time, you will either need to network the two computers so they can share a single Internet connection, or you will need to create a separate account for the second computer.

This system was installed on June 24, 2004. The coverage area includes the Grand Marais Rec Park and the area near the hospital. Due to equipment problems, we are no longer able to offer Wifi to the rest of the Grand Marais area.
